Here at AK Aesthetics, we are a clinic located in Liverpool, offering a wide range of beauty treatments to those who live in the UK, including HIFU treatments. HIFU refers to High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. The ultrasonic waves are non-ionizing, which means the exposure consists of a longer wavelength with lower frequency lower energy. This type of treatment can be used to increase the flow of blood or lymph, or to destroy tissue, such as tumours. We are going to focus on the role of HIFU in therapeutic beauty treatments.
How the HIFU Treatment Works
These ultrasonic waves work by heating skin tissue, which is what increases the flow of blood. This can help with beauty treatments including hair removal, photorejuvenation and to alleviate dermatologic conditions such as acne. This type of treatment is so effective that clients often achieve their desired results after just one treatment session.
What to Expect from Our HIFU Treatment
When it comes to photorejuvenation, this aims to improve the appearance of the skin, by boosting collagen levels, thus lifting and tightening the skin. The treatment is able to totally transform red, blotchy, sun-damaged skin into an even, more radiant complexion. Top-up treatments for this service are only needed once a year, so the results should be easy to maintain.
HIFU Treatment Results Maintenance
It’s important to note that to obtain the best results from the onset, you should avoid sun exposure, remembering that although some sun exposure gives us Vitamin D, too many UV rays can damage and age the skin. Furthermore, ask your GP for advise if on antibiotics, and avoid skincare products that contain certain ingredients (including glycolic/salicylic acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinol products such as Retin A, Tazorac, Triluma, Differin, and Vitamin C).
