About Our Skin Peels

Here at AK Aesthetics, we are a Liverpool based salon offering a variety of beauty treatments to those who live in the UK, including skin peels. From our base in Liverpool, we can carry out chemical skin peel treatments to clients across the UK, and today we are going to focus on what skin peels are and how we carry them out at AK Aesthetics.

What is a Skin Peel?

Skin peels are also known as chemical peels, and are a type of beauty treatment for the face. It is a type of facial treatment that involved brushing liquid onto the face with the aim to peel off old layers, to be replaced with a new, glowing complexion. The chemicals used during a chemical peel treatment aim to remove any dead skin cells, whilst also stimulating the growth of new cells.

What are the Benefits of a Skin Peel?

This treatment will improve the general appearance of the facial skin, and it can also target particular issues such as reducing age spots and evening out your tone. As the skin is the largest human organ, we need to take great care of it, being exposed to the outside world. The face is the part of the body that suffers the most as it is constantly exposed to the outside elements, and can be negatively impacted by UV rays and pollutants. We are made of chemicals, so using natural ingredients, it is possible to get your skin looking fresh and revived through a chemical peel treatment.

What can I Expect with Skin Peel Treatments at AK Aesthetics?

Whilst we may ask you to carry out a pre-treatment at home, the skin peel treatments offered at AK Aesthetics involved removing the surface layers by applying the chemical peel directly to your face. We always begin our beauty treatments with a consultation with our clients before carrying out the chemical peel treatment as we want to match your aesthetic goals as closely as possible. Our peel treatments take approximately 30-minutes to complete, where you can relax and let the liquids brush lightly against your skin. Once complete, you won’t immediately see the results, so don’t be alarmed by any redness as this should fade within a few hours. The treatment process may also include an aftercare kit, but at the very least you will need to apply sun protection. Once any residual redness fades, you will benefit from youthful, glowing radiant skin as the chemicals from the chemical peel do their work.
