Here at AK Aesthetics, we are a Liverpool based salon offering a variety of beauty treatments to those who live in the UK, including microneedling. From our base in Liverpool, we can carry out microneedling treatments to clients across the UK, which is also known as collagen induction therapy, or microneedling RF. Read on to find out more about exactly what microneedling is,
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is an aesthetic treatment that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles. It is a type of dermaroller procedure, which is a kind of collagen induction therapy. It makes use of a medical device called Innopen, which contains microneedles that are smaller than a strand of hair. Hundreds of minute punctures are created in the target area from the needles in the device.
What is Innopen?
The Innopen microneedling pen is a device that makes use of state-of-the-art technology and designed for professional use only. Unlike all other devices available in the EU, Innopen is completely unique as it uses the world’s only sealed treatment tip. This ensures that the treatment depth is delivered in a totally controlled environment. The needle entry system guarantees that skin is not retracted into the needle tip, which would otherwise cause uncontrolled depth, microscopic tears and tissue damage. It is powered with adjustable speed settings and depth control in 0.1mm increments from 0mm-2mm in the medical version and 0mm-1mm in the aesthetician version.
How does it Work?
By puncturing the skin in this way, forming tiny micro channels, the Innopen needles boots the body’s natural healing response, which in turn encourages collagen production. The collagen produced then fills in fine lines and scars without removing any of the epidermis (the top layer of skin). Additionally, as the barrel in the Innopen creates these micro insertions, its mechanics means that it also pushed any topical serums inside the holes and under the skin. In most other cases, any active ingredients inside cosmetic products usually have little impact as the molecules are too big to penetrate into the skin, so instead sit on the surface. In contrast, with microneedling, these active ingredients can penetrate deeply into the skin. Therefore, to reap the benefits of your beauty products, it is advised to combine your skincare routine with regular microneedle therapy.
What’s the Result?
As a result of regular microneedling treatments, you can expect your skin to look and feel completely rejuvenated and revitalised. This method means you can avoid any harsh chemicals, fillers, injections and lasers, and be rest assured that it won’t burn, dissolve, abrade or scrape your skin. You can then enjoy a youthful and natural look, lessening the appearance of any fine lines and scars.
