PDO Thread Lifting
PDO therapy is an effective cosmetic technique that lifts and tighten sagging skin tissues by inducing collagen production. It involves the implantation of fine, absorbable polydioxanone threads (similar to those used in medical suturing) into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using small needles.

At AK Aesthetics, we offer our clients a range of solutions to combat skin issues from our Liverpool clinic in the UK, including PDO thread lifting therapy. PDO thread lifting therapy is a cosmetic treatment that that is able to lift and tighten sagging skin tissues by inducing collagen production. PDO stands for polydioxanone, which is an absorbable polymer that is flexible and durable for minimally invasive thread lifts.
The fine, absorbable polydioxanone threads (similar to those used in medical suturing) are implanted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using small needles. It is carried out by using a cannula to insert the 90mm (9cm) thread, completed under local anaesthetic. The threads used are then trimmed so that they are no longer visible.
The goal of using PDO threads is to tighten the appearance of the skin, as well as to stimulate the naturally occurring collagen. A type of facial treatment, PDO thread lifting is suitable for any area of the face, as well as the neck and jaw, and including full eyebrow lifts.
Following the procedure, you may experience some swelling. The threads remain under the surface of the skin until they dissolve over time. It takes a few weeks for the process to finish, taking a total of three months to see the best face-lifting results. The treatment can offer this lifted look from between eighteen months to two years, after which you can top up your treatment.
