Here at AK Aesthetics, we offer a range of different beauty treatments, including plasma skin treatment. The use of plasma treatment for skin provides a competitive alternative to surgery as a kind of non-invasive skin lift. Using a plasma pen and under topical anaesthetic cream, the plasma blast skin treatment works by discharging an electrical arc. This doesn’t touch the skin directly, but rather the skin around the where the dots are formed shrinks due to the body’s natural healing process where the micro craters cause skin stretching.

Prior to carrying out the plasm skin treatment, we require a patch test for 48-hours in order to confirm there will be no allergic reaction to the numbing cream. We use this cream to make sure that the skin treatment with plasma is performed in the best way possible to ensure as little discomfort as possible. We don’t require a patch test for the plasma treatment itself, but for a small charge you can opt for this at the same time.

Whilst plasma treatment doesn’t require as much downtime as surgery, the process still requires some recovery time, which will vary depending on both the area being treated and your natural rate of recovery. You can expect your skin to become swollen directly after the treatment, especially in sensitive areas such as the eyelids. Some plasma may weep from the skin, which is natural as the spots begin to heal, and following this you can expect the skin to crust and then flake off. We provide an aftercare gel to help with the recovery process, and can also offer a tinted balm. Be careful with the treated skin for a few days, being mindful not to pick or knock the skin as the crusts form.
